Big big BIG shoutout to our dodgeball committee for putting on FLP’s Dodgeballin for Babies. This dodgeball competition raised over $400 for the March of Dimes foundation! Way to achieve our goal committee, over ten teams registered! Such a huge success, from finding over $400 worth of sponsorship to running logistics to finding an after-social venue and everything in between. We’d like to recognize each and everyone of you:

The event itself is this Saturday, September 24th at 8:15 AM. We will be meeting at the Plaza of the Americas in front of Peabody Hall.
—Wear close toed shoes & bring a water bottle so we can work hard to give back to our community!
–FREE FOOD: breakfast & lunch are both provided!!

When: Thursday, November 11
Time: Registration begins at 5pm; Tournament starts at 6pm
Where: Wildflower Apartments 1210 SW 11th Ave (Corner of Archer and 13^th Street across from Beaty Towers)

✦ Each team consists of 7 players and will be played tournament style
✦ The donation fee per player is $6, but if you want a UFFLP March of Dimes t-shirt the fee is $10.
✦ Spectacular prizes for the winning and 2nd Place teams!
☆ All proceeds will go to the March of Dimes fundraiser!
($10 for a game of dodgeball, a t-shirt, and helping out babies?! ;D)

This year, UF is calling for all volunteers to take part in the rewarding weekend project on Saturday, February 27th. Volunteers from all organizations will pick up paint brushes and shovels and turn a regular school into a child’s coloring book. Students can expect to:

*        Paint murals and educational pictures on classroom walls
*        Revitalize the school’s exterior with trees, plants and mulch pathways
*        Revamp the students’ playground and equipment

FLP will be  participating with the Leadership Institute Development of the Black Student Union on SATURDAY, Feb. 27 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. More updates will come as the project date approaches.
