Hey everyone!
Well this is actually the first official post by your current FLP Directors! woot!
Summer B is upon us, but that doesn’t mean its time to go back and hit the books, study, and go to classes. While all the above is very important and we encourage you to stay on top of your education, FLP has a few events planned for you to have a little fun for the next 6 weeks.
For those of you who are new to the Freshman Leadership Program, Welcome! We look forward to meeting you and can’t wait to get to know you throughout the upcoming year. What exactly is FLP? Well you might get sick and tired of hearing about it all the time, so just browse around this site and you’ll get a picture of what we’re all about. Don’t be a stranger and hesitate to ask us any questions however. You freshies are basically what makes up this unique program! So look out for us this whole summer. We’ll be tabling in the Reitz Colonnade and Turlington Plaza along with the Asian American Student Association and other sub-organizations.
Also, mark your calendars for July 17, 2010!
GATORMANIA! Also known as this huge carnival event which lets freshmen in on the wonderful opportunities to get involved on campus. We’ll definitely be there, so join us then for games, prizes, candy and much more.

For the old timers, welcome back! Just as FLP can’t live without freshmen, we can’t live without their mentors. Please come out and join the festivities this upcoming summer. In other news, mentor applications are coming out NOW. Don’t worry, you’ll have all summer to fill them out. Just remember if you do want to be a mentor and change/make a difference in some freshman’s life, APPLY! Interviews will be held beginning of Fall semester. More information to come out soon.

This year, UF is calling for all volunteers to take part in the rewarding weekend project on Saturday, February 27th. Volunteers from all organizations will pick up paint brushes and shovels and turn a regular school into a child’s coloring book. Students can expect to:
